The United States of America is full of beautiful and amazing towns. One cute southern town that we absolutely adore is Savannah, Georgia. Many women want to know if the places they are traveling to is safe so we broke down the safe score for women in this blog post. As a solo female traveler it's important to know what cities are safe for you and which are not. It's a shame we have to write a post like this in 2020 but we're happy to if it keeps YOU safe. We sent, Cienna Richards, CEO of Your Life Travel Club to Savannah alone and here is what she had to say. While traveling solo in Savannah, I felt completely safe. I had my backpack on with all my valuables in it. I walked around with my Canon EOS Rebel T6i and even allowed people to take pictures of me using my camera. I would give Savannah a 9/10 on safety. Just like all places as women, we must be cautious and not let our guard down. Cienna is so right. We must always be cautious as women. Here are three things you can do to stay safe while touring Savannah as a solo female traveler: #1 STAY DISTRACTION FREENever listen to music or talk on the phone while walking alone. By doing this, you are screaming to be a target. Criminals look for those who are distracted to steal from or victimize in any way. If you're listening to music, you may not hear someone come behind you and steal your wallet. Be vigilant and pay attention at all times. #2 HIDE YOUR VALUABLESThis one might be a given but it's important for you to keep your phone, wallet, and keys hidden from someone who may be looking to take those items. Your best bet is a cross-over purse that can keep all your items. A normal purse can be ripped off of your shoulders but it takes a lot more of an effort to take off a cross-body purse from someone. As women most of our clothes make seriously small pockets and therefore items placed in those pockets will easily show an outline. #3 DON'T GO DRINKING AT NIGHT ALONESavannah is known for its booming night life. The bars and pubs that fill the city market are always packed with lots of people just looking to enjoy their life. As a solo female traveler, we won't tell you not to go to the bars alone but we will advise you not to drink alone. When you're in a new city by yourself, people can sense that. Men look for ways to pray on women who are drinking without any friends in sight. This can lead to either poor sexual decisions on your part or being sexually assaulted. Find a group of women at the bars and make them your friend before drinking. Women typically look out for other women and this may be a great way to make new friends. Drink with them and not alone. Stay close to them so that the chances of you being harmed are lower. According to Neighborhood Scout, your "chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime in Savannah, GA is 1 in 225. Overall, Savannah is a very safe place for a solo female traveler. YOUR LIFE TRAVEL CLUBYour Life Travel Club is a women's only group travel club.
