Did you know Your Life Travel Club began right here in Jacksonville, FL. While most people don't generally travel to Jacksonville, FL unless they have family here, they should. Jacksonville has a rich and exciting history. Jacksonville is the largest city in the United States of America by land. We have over 840 miles of land here in Jacksonville. With so much land, there a lot to be discovered and see.

#1 THE JACKSONVILLE ZOO AND GARDENS

Picture
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is a beautiful outside Zoo where one could go and explore. If you're someone who enjoys seeing wildlife and animals, we highly recommend that you go. The Jacksonville Zoo is 1 in 7 Zoos in the United States that has an animal wellness team.

What we love about this Zoo is how there is a train that goes all around it. So, if you don't feel like walking throughout the entire Zoo, you can hop on and off the train at any stop and visit the animals in that section. The Zoo is perfect for families and solo travelers. Tickets range from $19.95 to $32.95. Be sure to visit their website to purchase tickets before going.

#2 kingsley plantation

Jacksonville, Florida has such a unique and rich history. Many of Jacksonville's history was destroyed in a great fire on May 3, 1901. While there are many foundations that no longer stand due to this fire, the Kingsley Plantation still stands very tall.

The Kingsley Plantation was a slave plantation here in the south. This property has been in the Kingsley family name since 1814 when it was leased to Zephaniah Kingsley. He later purchased the property in 1817 from John McIntosh. We highly recommend visiting this plantation. This plantation just as the many others is a symbol of pain and suffering for black individuals in the United States as a depicts the pain and suffering they endured during slave times. American history is everyone's history.

The plantation is open M-F until 5:00 pm.

#3 the museum of science & history

We love the MOSH ( Museum of Science and History). This museum is like no other. What we enjoy about the MOSH is their interactive exhibits for individuals of all ages. The MOSH is fun for those traveling to Jacksonville with children or even if you're a single individual. They have hands on learning activities to put history in perspective of modern day living.

To get into the museum, you must buy tickets online. Tickets are $15 per adult and $12 per child over the age of 2 years old. Children 2 and under get in for free. The MOSH is closed to the public Monday-Wednesday so that schools can have field trips. You can visit them online here.

#4 st. john's town center

If you haven't been to Jacksonville before, you 100% need to check out the St. John's Town Center. The Town Center is a large outdoor shopping mall filled with restaurants, clothing stores, jewelry stores, and more. It's a great place to go if you just want to walk around a shop. The stores in the town center range from low end stores to high end stores and restaurants. If you're a picky eater, you'll be sure to find a restaurant that matches exactly what you want to eat.

The town center is a very busy place to be with people constantly shopping and walking around. If you enjoy big crowds of people, definitely check out the St. John's Town Center.

#5 JACKSONVILLE BEACH

Picture
Jacksonville Beach, also known as Jax Beach is the most popular beach in town. When visiting the town of Jax Beach, of course stop by our wonderful beach and go for a swim. Maybe even come into town with some friends and play volleyball.

If you're into a booming nightlife, Jax Beach is the place to be. With over 15 bars to choose from starting on 1st street, bar hopping is totally possible. During the day the town is filled with lots of locals taking their bikes for a ride and enjoying the sea breeze. Make sure you stop at Jax Beach when in Jacksonville.

As locals here, those are our top five recommendations, not in any particular order. So, what are you waiting for? Visit Jacksonville, Florida and live your best life.
